On iPhones with an Action button, you can configure the button to trigger any of the following:
- Toggle between 12 Megapixel and 48 Megapixel photos
- Toggle between manual or auto focus
- Toggle between manual and auto exposure
- Cycle between the different lenses
- Enable or Disable RAW
Additionally, you can configure the action button to take a photo, but we do not recommend this. iOS requires you to hold the button to activate it; we already allow you to capture a photo by pressing the volume button, and that is faster and more natural.
Setting up the Action button requires an extra step outside of Halide. It should only take a minute, and this page will walk you through it.
1. Make sure you have installed Halide 2.13 or later.
To find out, open Halide's settings, and tap "About."
2. Open iPhone Settings
Leave Halide and open iPhone Settings. Toward the top of the list, you'll find the "Action Button" option. Tap it.
3. Swipe until you reach the "Shortcut" option.
You may already have something else assigned. Whatever is there, tap on the drop-down and you will see a picker.
4. Pick "Open Halide with In-App Trigger."
Scroll down to find Halide in the list.
Make sure you pick "Open Halide with In-App Trigger". The other choices will open Halide, but not trigger in-app actions.
If you have difficulty finding it, you can also tap on the search field and type in "Halide."
5. Configure the trigger within Halide.
When you return to Halide, tap the Action Button item. You can now pick from a variety of actions in a list.
If there's any trigger that you'd like added, please let us know at support@lux.camera.
